Remo Ambassador Coated 14Inch Drum Head Industry Standard Snare & Tom Head

Remo Ambassador Coated 14Inch Drum Head Industry Standard Snare & Tom Head

The Remo Ambassador Coated 14″ Drum Head is one of the most widely used and trusted drumheads in modern drumming. As part of the iconic Ambassador series, it is considered an industry standard for both snare drums and tom applications, offering a highly balanced combination of warmth, attack, and controlled sustain.

Constructed from a single-ply 10-mil coated Mylar film, the Ambassador Coated delivers a smooth, warm tone with enhanced sensitivity and refined articulation. The coated surface improves brush response, making it especially suitable for jazz, acoustic, and studio recording environments where subtle dynamics are essential.

The 14-inch size is the most universally used drumhead diameter in the drum world, commonly found on snare drums and sometimes floor toms. This versatility makes it a core component in both beginner and professional drum setups.

Compared to clear versions, the coated finish produces a slightly warmer and more focused sound with reduced overtones, making it ideal for controlled recording environments. It also offers excellent compatibility with different tuning ranges, from tight, crisp snare sounds to deeper, more resonant tones.

The Remo Ambassador Coated series has become a defining element in shaping modern drum sound, trusted by drummers across all genres for its consistency, musicality, and durability.
